Good design starts with comprehensive understanding of purpose and users of a space. Therefore, I always start with a thorough analysis of all the usage cases of the space, the workflow, the end user needs and their main challenges.
In case of office spaces I start by interviewing the HR, marketing and administrative units, as well as analysing the corporate structures. I aim to understand and pinpoint the key communication requirements within the company. Only then do I start the floorplan analysis.
